MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) 2011 – Not the best,

but it DELIVERED!

Roll up the “red carpet” and roll out the “black carpet”. The MTV Video Music Awards has lashed Hurricane Irene by grabbing the attention of the entertainment fraternity.

Though not as “over-the-top” as awards of the past, eliteBUZZ can safely say that the MTV Video Music Awards 2011 has delivered the excitement it promised. Some persons really didn’t need to be there, but let’s get to the real interesting stuff.

The 1st award for the night, which is a new category at the VMAs, went to Lady Gaga for “Best Video with a Message” with her smash hit “Born this way”.

The event started with a bang with the British Invasion, and in true American Style, Jay-Z and Kanye West got the entire audience bouncing with their duo performance; the production hub backstage erupted with excitement – the show was on a roll. By the way, has Jaz-Z lost weight? Not looking bad at all.

Inside the Theatre, the Foo Fighters copped the Best Rock Music Award, followed by [see list below].

Adele

The eliteBUZZ Team could not get enough of how stunning Adele looked, the British “royalty” added vintage class to the world of pop with her royal persona and undisputed talent. Adele’s performance was the eliteBUZZStop and Stare” moment of the night.

We really weren’t impressed with the “celebration” of Britney Spears (coming to that in a bit); additionally, unfortunately one of our favorite entertainers, Lady Gaga, did not deliver the stella performance we expected. Is Gaga on “something”?

Chris "Breezy" Brown

Chris Brown

Undoubtedly, the King of the night was definitely “Breezy”; Chris Brown, who got a standing ovation led by Kanye West, delivered! – you simply cannot lose a bet if you ever vote for Chris, he is the real deal and certainly a force not to mess with in relation to his talent.

Beyonce

“Celebrating the love growing inside her”, the Queen of the night, was surely Beyonce. Miss Knowles wore her “bulge” elegantly and delivered a stunning performance in excellent range only Adele (maybe) could have matched.

One of the most prestigious award of the night is the “Michael Jackson Vanguard Award” which went to Britney Spears, you read that correctly, Britney Spears; may we have a close look at the criteria for this award please? We’ll say no more.

eliteBUZZ also congratulates Jerry Wonda for his brilliant production work on Justin Bieber’s “U Smile”. Jerry “Prince” Wonda has consistently been putting out great music for artistes such as Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, The Fugees, Wyclef Jean, P. Diddy; just to name a few – “Star Producer” is an understatement.

Nicki Minaj

The backstage excitement was intense, the eliteBUZZ Crew had a ball as we polled who staff members thought gave the best acceptance speech, the winner was Britney Spears (28 votes), followed by Nicki Minaj (23 votes), Katy Perry/Kanye West (22 votes), and Justin Beiber (17 votes). Though Britney won, no one will forget “Ooooooooooooh my Gaaaaaaaaaaawd (Oh, Em, Gee)” uttered by Nicki Minaj. Nicki’s acceptance speech was so comical it actually outdid her multi-colored cartoon character costume.

Finally, we must make mention of our glimpse of Kim Kardashian backstage; one word – FABULOUS!

The MTV Video Music Award was first aired in 1984 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. Since its inception it has been staged in various US cities; the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles was this year’s venue.

“Anything” by Musiq Soulchild ft. Swizz Beatz

Steadily Climbing the Charts!

Recording Artist Musiq Soulchild

MUSIQINTHEMAGIQ” marks the third release on the Atlantic Records label for Philadelphia native Musiq Soulchild.  The single “Anything” (featuring Swizz Beatz) has been rising steadily up the top 40 on Billboard’s “R&B/Hip Hop Songs” chart.  Produced by Jerry “Wonda” Duplessis (who has previously worked with artists as diverse as Wyclef JeanJustin Bieber, and T.I.) the highly anticipated CD breaks new ground while remaining faithful to his core fan base with lyrically-elegant tracks such as “yes“.

The Grammy nominee’s trademark sound remains intact with “MUSIQINTHE MAGIQ”, his seventh CD since his Platinum blockbuster debut in 2000, “AIJUSWANASEING”. Blending familiar but entertaining themes to a mix of R&B, hip hop and jazzy grooves, the new release showcases Musiq as one of a handful of today’s male vocalists who could probably sing “girl, you trippin” and make it sound romantic.

eliteBUZZ Congratulates MusiqSoulchild and Swizz Beatz, we once again acknowledge the work of Jerry Wonda!

This is not just a buzz, this is eliteBUZZ!

Stop The Presses! > Justin Bieber Says Besieged By Paparazzi In Israel

Justin Bieber Says Besieged By Paparazzi In Israel

by Reuters in Stop The Presses!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Can a teen idol get a break from the paparazzi when he visits holy sites?

Evidently not, as Justin Bieber is finding out on his visit to Israel, where he is scheduled to play a concert in Tel Aviv on Thursday.

The Canadian pop star sent out a series of angry Twitter messages on Tuesday, complaining that aggressive photographers had forced him to spend the rest of his trip holed up in his hotel room.

“You would think paparazzi would have some respect in holy places,” wrote 17 year-old Bieber, who is a practicing Christian. “All I wanted was the chance to walk where jesus did here in isreal (sic).”

“They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous … People wait their whole lives for opportunities like this, why would they want to take that experience away from someone … Staying in the hotel for the rest of the week u happy?”

According to the London-based Jewish Chronicle, Bieber was scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and tour the Dead Sea, Masada and Caesarea.

After his concert at Hayarkon Park in the bustling city, he will likely face another round of paparazzi when he begins an Asian-Pacific swing in Malaysia on April 21.

Justin & Jaden – Not a bad collab

What’s poppin’ eliteBUZZERS?

OK, so here’s the deal, The Karate Kid movie really didn’t do all that well, the truth is many persons still think that lil Jaden Smith is still a tad “green” and needs to work a little bit more on his acting skills. This we know will come in time with parents like Will and Jada, come on, it’s in his genes.

Justin Bieber didn’t have it easy either when he first came on the scene, but thanks to music lovers in his age group, he is soaring.

Watch this before i finish saying what i really wanna say…

Come on, let’s give them some credit, the lyrics not bad at all, the voices actually fit this song. It features two progressive young entertainers who will make it in this industry.

eliteBUZZ loves these two young men… ha… men… yeah, we love them.
